Meet Our Team
Kelly
Kelly fell in love with aerial in 2018 after attending her first silks class with friends. Hammock soon followed when Fusion started at Stockton and Static Trapeze made an entrance not long after. Kelly excitedly accepted our offer to join us as a student aerial instructor in July 2019. She became fully qualified in 2020 after completing her intensive Aerial Teaching Foundation course at Flying Fantastic in London and is studying further in Silks with Spin City and Static Trapeze. Rope is her next ‘thing’ and enjoys drops, rolls and spins the most.
Becky B
Becky currently teaches yoga and aerial in our Stockton venues and has been working with Anvesaka since 2018. She attended our very first aerial yoga class as a student in 2017 and has since expanded her skillset to include aerial silks, fusion, hoop and trapeze. Becky loves how empowered aerial makes her feel but has recently reignited her passion for mat based yoga with a particular interest in embodiment and functional movement principles. Becky believes our bodies are a gateway to joy and self acceptance and weaves this into her teaching wether in the air or on the ground.
Charmaine
Charmaine started her aerial journey with Anvesaka in March 2018 attending an aerial yoga class with friends, after the first inversion she was hooked. Just a month later she attended a hoop class and that’s when she knew she had found her place in the world. Despite having a few months out for a double
mastectomy, (BRACA) and other surgeries, Charmaine owes her speedy recovery to her determination to get back to flying. She has almost completed her aerial hoop teachers certification with spin city and is never happier than when she’s upside down (except when she is exploring the world with her 3 and 6 year old)
Sheila
Sheila joined her 1st class in June 2019. She enjoyed it despite struggling due to body size and flexibility so much she immediately signed up for a 2nd weekly class 2 days later. After achieving her nemesis move (circus seat) in Feb 2020 she signed up to become an Anvesaka teacher and a month later was teaching her 1st classes.
Sheila is extremely determined and lets nothing get in her way when she puts her mind to something even in her daily role as a HGV recovery truck driver.
Becky C
Becky has took Mat based yoga for over 3 years and she tried Aerial Yoga 2 years ago and fell in love with it . In June 2021 she enrolled on the Mixed equipment course, she is now one of our student teachers and is hoping to be qualified for the September term of 2021.
Becky has previously studied Mental Health Awareness.
During lockdown the best things that helped where exercise and yoga so she decided to do a online Fitness Instructor course.
As soon as restrictions eased she enrolled with Anvesaka yoga and loves the way it instantly boosts her mood and confidence. Becky loves spending time with her family and being outdoors in the wild.
Charlotte
Charlotte has been teaching traditional yoga, childrens yoga and aerial yoga with Anvesaka since 2019. She discovered yoga in childhood, in an old book on her parents bookshelf, eventually completing her 200hr yoga teacher training in 2020. Charlotte discovered aerial yoga when she attended the first ever anvesaka class in 2017, and the rest is history! Charlotte’s focus in yoga is self care; rediscovering our innate strength, flexibility and resilience in both body and mind. Illegitimi non carborundum!
Jen
Jen is a dancer, choreographer and aerial hoop fanatic. Originally from Canada, she moved to the UK to pursue her dance career and fell in love with aerial hoop along the way. Her classes incorporate her love of music, dance, flying, and fun. Expect to be challenged, learn lots of new tricks, find some flow, and have a laugh.
Emma CD
Emma has been practicing aerial yoga for just over 2 years and also takes part in silks, hoop and trapeze, as well as our family classes with her son Samuel. Starting her aerial practice at our Durham venue kick started a change in mind-set that allowed her to make changes to her work life balance, significantly improving her mental and physical wellbeing, as well as having loads of fun and making some amazing friends along the way.
Kieran
Kieran’s tendency for living up to stereotypes is the reason he is on the teaching roster for Anvesaka, he is married to the owner. Kieran initially became involved as the rigger for Anvesaka but was inspired to try a few classes after seeing a particularly impressive strap performance at the circus in Norfolk. While he has yet to get hands-on with this particular apparatus he has experience of every discipline Anvesaka offers. If you want to stay on his good side don’t get strops and round slings mixed up. Outside of AY he is an enthusiastic hobbyist DIYer and an all-round geek.
Kimberley
Kimberley joined Anvesaka in 2018 as a hammock and hoop student. She has been an instructor with us for just over a year across our venues in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Stockton.
Kimberley has been a primary school teacher for 8 years and she currently teaches Reception children at a school in Middlesbrough. In her spare time she likes to travel, bake and spend time with family/friends.
Stacey
Stacey fell in love with Aerial in 2019 after her first class in Middlesbrough. 2 years later she has joined the teaching team and excited to take on her first classes!. Aerial saved Stacey and was a driving force in her ED Recovery, putting the focus on what amazing things her body could do and not how it looked all while surrounded by amazing people all shapes and sizes in the most inclusive fitness environment she’s been in. A far cry from Stacey’s stressful and demanding day job Anvesaka provided a safe space to check in mentally and physically, relaxing her mind and soul ready for the week ahead.
Emma S
Emma is a keen aerialist having given it a go at a club in 2014, she has been obsessed ever since. Over the years it became a love for all circus arts, travelling to conventions to try out the many different disciplines. In 2021 she joined Anvesaka first as a student and soon to be a teacher, keen to spread the joy! Away from aerial Emma is a gardener and lover of the great outdoors, often out exploring the local area with her dog.
Laura
Laura first tried yoga when she signed up for a beginners aerial yoga class with Anvesaka in January 2019.
After trying hoop, silks, and trapeze, just to see what they were like, she’s now addicted to all four. She started teacher training through Anvesaka in June 2021.
When she’s not hanging upside down from whatever’s closest or teaching Maths and Physics to excitable teenagers, she loves spending time with her dog, reading books and everything Marvel.
Lottie
Lottie first discovered aerial yoga with Anvesaka when she was trying to find some local yoga lessons. Having already practiced ‘normal’ yoga for several years and loved it, she thought an aerial version sounded really exciting. After her first term of lessons, a passion for being in the air and upside down began. Lottie then gained experience in hoop (her favourite!), then silks, and later trapeze as well.
She joined the teaching team in early 2020 and still loves yoga and loves combining yoga with the aerial hammock in her aerial yoga teaching.
Janina
Janina moved to the UK from Germany when she was 7 and spent most of her 20’s in Goa, just having a great time. She was never a very active person and had always been told that once she found something she loves it becomes easier. After seeing an online video about Aerial Yoga, Janina was very happy to find Anvesaka a couple of years ago.
Her time has been rather staggered due to Covid breaks but she was beyond excited to start her teacher training.
Bekah
Bekah first tried yoga 5 years ago and joined AY at the start of 2020. Bekah loved aerial yoga and really took to hanging upside down, so much so she decided to become a teacher. Bekah is from North Yorkshire but has lived in three different countries. In her spare time, Bekah really enjoys walking her cute spaniel and upcycling furniture.
